Birchall Tea

Birchall is a family-owned tea company based in London, with roots in the trade dating back over 140 years when Captain Birchall Graham first planted tea in Darjeeling in 1872. We are the world’s third largest exporter of bulk tea from East Africa. Last year we purchased over 50 million kilos of tea and this year we are on target to buy well in excess of this amount – representing more than 50% of total UK consumption. Our professional tea tasters in Mombasa Kenya taste approx. 5000 teas per week and less than 1% of those will be deemed good enough to go into our signature Birchall breakfast tea blends. All our teas are packed in our fully solar powered tea factory located in the UK.
